Services for Lucille Strickland McQueen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at Alpine Baptist Church, Tioga, Louisiana, with Reverend Dick DeBusk, Reverend Sammy Morrow, and Reverend Charles Hutzler, officiating. Burial will be at Tioga Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Alexandria.
Visitation will be Monday, August 20, 2012, at Alpine Baptist Church, Tioga, Louisiana , from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Mrs. McQueen, 80, of Tioga, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012, at her residence.
She was a member of Alpine Baptist Church for over 40 years being active in numerous functions and activities. She was a former employee of Valex Credit Union at England Air Force Base and Dresser Credit Union.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby McQueen; son, Gary McQueen; parents, James Robert & Carrie Clyde Corkern Strickland; sisters, Maxine Gunter, Jimmie Belgard.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Karen Juneau & husband Bubba; brother, Wayne Strickland; sisters, Christine Floberg, Linda Bostick; sister-in-law, Jimmie Brown.
Pallbearers will be Cliff Hayes, Lloyd Eden, Richard "Butch" Lindsay, A. H. "Nub" Parker, Jerry Richey, and Peter Leboeuf. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Smith, and D. W. "Dub" Williams
