OBITUARY: December 10, 1977 in :Pottsville Republican:
Mrs. Maude Blyler Masser, 68, of Leck Kill, died unexpectedly at 4:30 Friday afternoon at her home two days after the death of her husband, Clarence Masser. Mrs. Masser was born February 6, 1909 at Valley View and was the daughter of the late John and Agnes Troutman Blyler. She was a member of Christ United Church of Christ, Leck Kill, and the Ladies Aid Societyand Guild of the church. She and her husband were married December 25,1928. Surviving are four sons, Sterman, Valley View, Charles, Klingerstown RD, William, Leck Kill, Clarence, Jr. Dalmatia; three daughters, Mrs. Mark Kieffer, Dornsife,RD, Mrs. David Martz, and Mrs. Gary Baumer, both of Herndon RD. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren; one great grandson; four brothers Daniel Blyler, Klingerstown RD, Roy Blyler, Valley View, Elmer Blyler, Gratz, Joseph Blyler, Hegins; five sisters, Mrs. Grace Wolfgang, Herndon RD, Mrs. Russell Carl, Valley View, Mrs. Alma Umholtz, Sacramento, Mrs. Aston Schadel, Harrisburg, and Mrs. Roland Hoffman, Gratz. Services for both Mr. and Mrs. Masser were held Saturday morning in Christ United Church of Christ, Leck Kill, with the Rev. Eldon Ehrhart, Pitman, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial was in Jacob's Cemetery, Pitman. The Lawrence E Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD, had charge of arrangements.
