BERTHA SCHULTZ

Death Mon. morning of Mrs. Bertha Schulz following a long difficult illness with
consumption with which she had been bedridden since 12 May last year. Mrs.
Schulz, nee Huebner, was born 20 June 1848 in Brandenburg and came to America
with her parents when she was three years old, settling in Town Meeme. She married
Ferdinand Schulz, her surviving husband, in 1869. She is survived also by 8
grown children. Her funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the city cemetery.

Mrs. Ferdinand Schultz quietly breathed her last at 6 o'clock Monday morning
and passed to her eternal rest. Deceased had been an invalid for a number of
years and for many months past had been confined to her cot with consumption.
Medical skill and the patient, untiring efforts of loved ones were unable to
calm her patient suffering, but with the welcome nod of the silent messenger,
all earthly suffering and cares ceased forever.
Deceased was born in Germany in 1848 but had long made this city her home. She
is survived by a husband and eight children, Albert and Gustave of Milwaukee;
Rose, Louise, William, Freddy, Emma and Lillie of this city. The funeral was
held from the family home at 2 o'clock Wednesday and was largely attended.
Interment was at Evergreen.
