Obituary - Robert S. Pelletreau, former Surrogate of Suffolk County, and senior member of the law firm Pelletreau & Pelletreau, died at his home in Patchogue on Wednesday of this week. He was seventy-five years of age. Judge Pelletreau was Surrogate of Suffolk County and resigned from that office five years ago. He was born in East Moriches, the son of the late Jesse W. and Nancy Stevens Pelletreau. He was educated at Yale University and received his law degree from there in 1890, after which he began his practice in Patchogue. In his early life, Mr. Pelletreau was active in Democratic politics, but he later became a Republican. He was a former member of the Patchogue Village Board, a former County Attorney and for the last seven years president of the Union Savings Bank of Patchogue. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Mather Memorial Hospital at Port Jefferson, vice president of the Suffolk County Historical Society, and a member of the state and county bar associations. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Rogers Pelletreau; two sons, John R. and Robert H. Pelletreau; and a half-sister, Miss Jessie Pelletreau.
