Ms. Nola Jewell Gibson, 82, of Barbourville, passed away Monday morning, August 6, 2012 in the Knox County Hospital Long-Term Care Unit. She was a daughter of the late William Jennings and Allie Frances Logan Gibson born on May 8, 1930 at Hubbs Creek.

Ms. Gibson was a former homemaker and a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church. She enjoyed drawing and cooking.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Irene Gibson and four brothers, Joseph Allen, William Fred, Roy Herman and Ernest Logan Gibson.

Survivors include two sisters, Vontella "Vee" Girdner of Barbourville and Othella Mae Mayne of Bryants Store; two brothers, J. B. Gibson and wife, Paula, of Cleves, OH and Dennis Gibson and wife, Barbara, of Bryants Store; a special friend, Clarence Chappelle of Bryants Store; a special niece, Sue Golden of Bryants Store; several other nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, August 9 at 11 A.M. with Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Nancy Bain Cemetery at Hubbs Creek.

Casket bearers will be Charlie Miller, Kelly Gibson, Doyle Gibson, Dennis Gibson, Clarence Chappelle, Harold McCreary and Troy Lay. Honorary bearers will be Cindy Goodin, Valerie Gregory, Jessica Brown, Tammy Hurst and Katie May.
