She died of an outbrake of Scaelet Fever, following the deaths of her two sisters, Catharine Bittner, Barbara Bittner and her mother Elizabeth Ferguson Bittner, March 13, 1863. At the time of death, her father Solomon Bittner was serving with the Union Army, Company E. 158th Reg't. PA. Infantry.
