The first wife of Solomon Bittner. She died at home in the Villiage of Antietam Junction, which was located about 2.5 miles south of Waynesboro, Washington Township, Franklin County, PA.

Children: three daughters Susan Bittner, Catherine Bittner and Barbara Bittner and baby son Harry Clay Bittner, all died in 1863. The mother and three daughters died March-April 1863 of Scarlet Fever. The baby boy died October 14, 1863. Surving children: Elizabeth Bittner, married Jacob K. Row; Lydia Bittner, married George W. Layman.

Near Antietam Junction, on the 13th inst, ELIZABETH, consort of Solomon Bittner, aged 33 years, 10 months and 7 days, Of the same family, on the 17th inst, CATHERINE, daugther of Solomon and Elizabeth Bittner, aged 5 years, 9 months and 9 days. Also of the same family on the 23rd inst, BARBARA Bittner, daughter of the same parents, aged 1 year and 10 months.

A separate announcement, on April 2nd, Susan, daughter of Solomon and Elizabeth Bittner, died near Antietam Junction, she was 13 years old.
