A large crowd attended the funeral of the late B. W. Smithey on Sunday afternoon at Bellview cemetery. Service by Rev. Blackwell, of New Market. Mr. Smithey was 79 years old, a Confederate veteran and a man every one liked. He leaves an aged wife, six sons and four daughters who are: Messrs. Abbie and Robert, of Greenville, Texas; J. A., Lile and Tom of this place; Mrs. T. M. Phillips, of Williamsport; Mrs. J. D. Norris, of New Market; Mrs. Oscar Patterson, of Moores Mill and Mrs. Charlie Weaver of McComb, Miss. The entire community sympathizes with them in their loss. The floral offerings were beautiful.
