Susannah Marriott Barlow Kelsch Smith, 74, passed away April 24, 1996 in Salt Lake City.
Sue was born March 23, 1922 in East Millcreek, Utah, to John Yeates and Ada Marriott Barlow. Married Louis Alma Kelsch , January 11, 1938; he preceded her in death. Married Heber Chase Smith, May 4, 1961.
She raised nine children: Joyce (John) Butchereit, Gerald (Phyllis) Kelsch , Carolyn (Roland) Roberts, Donald Kelsch , all of Salt Lake City; Sharyn (Charles) Strebel, Tabiona, Utah; Shirlee (Tom) Hollingsworth, Houston, Texas; Glen (Sherrie) Kelsch , Alpine, Utah; Beverly (Mark) Doman, Salt Lake City; Randee Kelsch , Monroe, Utah. Helped raise 14 stepchildren: Glen (Neide) Day of Salt Lake City; Gwen (Con) Ellis, Sandy, Utah; Chase (Susan) Smith, Salt Lake City; Geraldine (deceased); Rob Barrett, Calif.; Jeannie (John) Willard, Idaho; Carol (Bob) Ratterman, Florida; Jim (Helen) Smith, Sandy (Lee) McAffee, all of Salt Lake City; Jan Payne, Marilyn (Cliff) Daniels, all of Idaho; Ron (Jolene) Smith, Bountiful; Norman (Cindy) Smith, Idaho; Richard (Rose) Smith, Salt Lake; Allen Smith, Ogden; 69 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren.
My love will always be there for my sisters, blood and other...and my brother: Naomi, Ruth, LaVern (all deceased), Sarah, Alice, Leona, Nita, Mildred, Adarae, Veda, John, Elsie, Barbara, and Eleanor.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 29, 1996 at 2 p.m. at the River View Ward, 955 West 4800 So. Friends may call Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at the Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 So. 900 East, and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Road.
