He was born December 15, 1945 in Dayton, OH to the late Aldred and Margaret O'Connor Dye, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Tonya Bishop Dye; his four children; his seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; two sisters; three nieces and their spouses and children; and his mother-in-law. Al "Rusty" will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and his special buddy Barkley the puppy who he adored. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Paul and one sister, Janie Dye.
Al was a 1964 graduate of Coalton High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1965, where he served admirably during the Vietnam War as a boat mechanic and fireman before being honorably discharged in 1969. He received his Bachelors in Business Administration Degree from Mt. Vernon Nazarene College. He was a long time employee of the Mead Corporation, followed by an 18 year career at Infosight Corporation.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday at the Haller Funeral Home, with his brother-in-law, Pastor Richard Bishop officiating. Military graveside services, conducted by the US Navy will be held at 1:30 pm Tuesday in Salem Cemetery, Wellston, OH. Friends may call 5-8 pm Monday at Haller's.
