Aviation Ordnanceman First Class (AO1) Ollie James Gross was a Navy Vietnam Veteran attached to Helicopter Attack (Light) Squadron Three - HA(L)-3 as a helicopter door gunner with HC-1 Det 27 which later became HA(L)-3 Det 2, (7/17/1966 to 4/9/1967). AO1 Gross returned for a second tour with HA(L)-3 Det 4, (8/3/1968 to 4/23/1969) when he was KIA in a helicopter crash at Cu Chi, S. Vietnam.
