Tom H. Mix, 68, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna following a long illness. Born May 2, 1932, in Deerfield, he was the son of Walter A. and Mary P. (Girard) Mix. Mr. Mix retired from YSD Industries of Youngstown, where he worked as a welder. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of Deerfield American Legion Post #713 and Ravenna VFW Post #1055. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Barbara (Barrett); brothers, Albert (Margaret) and Wilbur, both of Deerfield and Delbert (Darlene) of Berlin Center; and a sister, Arlene Lopez of Downey, Calif. His parents, and a sister, Wilda Oswalt, died previously. Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Wood-Kortright Funeral Home Ravenna Chapel. Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Deerfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, Mass. 01704.
