Fred R. Nutt Taken In Death

Fred R. Nutt, 75, president of the Fairfield Lumber Co., died at 6 a.m. today at the Jefferson Count hospital. He had been incapacitated by illness for many years.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Weston Behner Funeral home in charge of the Rev. Hoyt Whitebread. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn cemetery.

Nutt had been a resident of Fairfield for 38 years. His home was at 502 S. Fifth Street.

Nutt was born June 29, 1888. He was married to Aura Gilliland (sic) in Menden, Ill. He entered the lumber business in Fairfield in 1926 when he purchased the Charles M. Lyon yard.

His wife preceded him in death in September, 1961. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Don Abbey, Fairfield; three grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Harriett DeMarcus, Elsinore, Calif. Ten brothers and sisters are deceased.
