I am looking for his wife Rebecca Treadwell Matthews.She is a relative to me but i cannot find her or her death place or date.I know she was born in Alabama on 29 Jan 1840 and she was still alive in the 1920 Geneva County census,living with her son Augustus Charles Matthews.Other than that...Nothing!

Regarding the grave of Rebecca Treadwell Matthews Gray: "A Dowling Family of The South" by R. A. Dowling, published in 1959, states that Rebecca Treadwell Gray, b. 29 Jan 1841, lived 63 years after her marriage on 1 Nov 1860 to Mellon Thoory (Dowling's spellings) Matthews. Mr. Dowling further states that she is buried in Claybank Cemetery. Perhaps hers is one of the unmarked graves near M.T. Matthews?
