In the Family Bible that listed his mother and wife and all of his children's birthdate's correctly.It says he was born on 26 Mar 1867 and died on 28 Nov 1925.The tombstone say's otherwise.
His mother was Rebecca Treadwell Matthews,daughter of William Augustus Treadwell and Lucy Anne Sorrell Treadwell.I have not located her death place and date yet,but she was living with her son Augustus Charles Matthews in the 1920 census in Slocomb,Geneva County,Alabama,age 80.
Married to Mary E, "Mollie" Purswell in Dale County, Alabama on 25 Dec 1892.
