Charles R Fox one of the best known men of the county, died this morning a few minutes before one o'clock at the Hinton Hospital, where he had been for the past two or three weeks for medical treatment.

Mr Fox was taken ill four or five weeks ago and did not improve, so it was decided to take him to the hospital for treatment. He continued to get worse and gradually grew weak until the end came this morning at the hour named.

Mr Fox was born and has since resided at Brooks (four miles below Hinton) all his life with the exception of a few months ago, when he moved to this city.

He leaves a wife and three sons, Robert of Chicago, Henry of Florida and Houston of Brooks. He leaves four brothers, as follows: S H, Dave and James A of Brooks and Franklin of Braxton county, this state, and one sister, Mrs Susan Bennett of Raleigh county in addition to many other relatives.

Mr Fox was twice married. He first married Miss Agnes Pack who died on March 17, 1911. On February 12, 1913, he married Mrs Allie Irvin of this city. He then moved to Hinton where he resided until he passed away at the time above mentioned.
Mr Fox was 70 years of age, his last birthday being June 3, 1912. He was an excellent citizen and in his death the county loses one of its substantial men.

He united with the Baptist Church at Brooks last fall and was baptized there by Rev Richmond, of that church.

The remains were taken in charge by Undertaker Calfee and will be taken to Brooks for burial. The funeral party will leave Hinton on No 13 Saturday and after funeral services at the Brooks Church by Rev Lacey of this city, the body will be laid to rest in the new graveyard on the Jas A Fox farm, near Brooks.
