Charles David Adams age 83, passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Adams was born September 8, 1927 I Limestone County to Joseph Razz Adams and Mary Elizabeth Echols Adams.
Services will be Friday, May 6, 2011 2:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, May 5, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery with Wade West officiating.
Mr. Adams enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, going to flea markets and gardening.
Preceded in death by his parents, and 52 years this date his mother Mary passed away.
Survived by his wife, Georgia Newman Adams of Elkmont; two sons, Danny Thomas Adams (Kathy) of Elkmont and David Allen Adams (Shelby) of Athens; two daughters, Joannie Elizabeth Butler (Benny) of Columbia, AL. and Carrie Jo Wright of Elkmont; 8 grandchildren, Traci Butler Johnston (Greg) of Dothan, AL., Tawnya Butler Kirkland (Frank) of Headland, AL., Michelle Adams Lagunas (David) of Athens, Rayna Guyot Powers (Bruce) of Hartselle, AL., Kevin Butler (Cara) of New London, New Hampshire, Dena Guyot Enfinger (Clayton) of Midland City, AL., Sean Thomas Guyot of Elkmont and Austin Adams of Athens; 2 step-grandchildren, Lisa Lane Cowan of Elkmont and Keith Lane of Athens; 7 great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Butler, Sean Guyot, Austin Adams, Frank Kirkland, Greg Johnston and Bruce Powers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dilan Kirkland, Shelby Kirkland, Clayton Enfinger and Alan Dement.
