((In 1905 (From a Swedish-language newspaper in Kotka area.) Compulsory action for his belongings. So Konsta was broke and desperate in May 1905, before he moved to Helsinki. Konsta owned one-third of a house in Konstantinkatu 8, Kotka which belongs to Juho Kujala, Konsta's father in law. The house was in the 59th quarter of the town in Kotka. But his third of the house and his belongings were distrained and auctioned by the bailiff.)) In 1907 he was convicted for interfering with the police. Konsta and Ida Sofia separated around 1908 because Ida is renting a room by herself in September 1908, she gave birth to the last child alone. Konsta was in Helsinki at the time, but then, they both moved to Helsinki in 1910, He is listed as an "outside worker" (carpenter)

He moved to Helsinki first in July 1909 and lived in Kristiinankatu 4

Then in June 1910, he is listed as returned to Kotka. But then returned to Helsinki in March 1910, now address is listed as Humleberg 8 (Humalisto with family K. J. Lehtonen. I guess Konsta met Fanny Elina then as he rented a room from Karl Johan Lehtonen's family so Konsta was in Helsinki and Ida in the US and back to Kotka, in 1915.

In 1912 He was chosen as a police officer for Kajaani and again in 1913. He was chosen for a limited time and chosen again in 1915 and 1919. But, sued in 1920 for breaking prohibition.

Ida left Konstantin in 1915, and they got divorced because he was a very mean man. So, this is from 1915, just before Ida and Konsta got a divorce. They were fighting publicly in a newspaper.

Konsta had returned to live in Kotka in 1915 temporarily, before returning to Kajaani, It says... "Forbade Under lawful responsibility I forbid sugar factory worker under the name Jalkanen, who lives together with my wife Ida Sofia Karlsson (neé Kujala), to stop being in touch with my wife and leaving her be.

Konst. Karlsson"

and Ida's one below says:

"Forbade

Under lawful responsibility, I forbid my husband Konst. Karlsson and workman wife Fanny Elina Lindberg living together. At the same time, I forbid anyone from doing business with K. Karlsson before I receive a lawful divorce from him. Kotka 15th of March 1915.

"Notification

Notification by Ida Karlsson published in the newspaper Eteenpäin, number 61/1915. Concerning that notification, I shall announce that K. Karlsson does not enjoy any favor or popularity in my household, compared to any other tenant.

F. E. Lindberg"

" Konsta apparently " abandoned his wife Ida Karlsson of wickedness and unfriendliness" Ida and Konsta got their divorce from the court of Savonlinna.

He moved to Sotkamo on the 28th of December 1915. Konsta fought in the Finnish Civil War on the white's side, he executed 7 people, and this was mentioned in a newspaper. He became a police officer in Sotkamo. He was also the greatest bootlegger in Sotkamo and Kajaani. He manufactured illegal booze and sold it at a great price. He also bought alcohol from his brother Hjalmar who lived in Kotka. The police in Kajaani hated him, they tried to catch him, they knew very well he was a bootlegger.

(((Once Konsta was on his way to sell spirits in Kajaani when he ran into two young police officers that were sent to pick him up and imprison him. Well, the officers said that now you are coming with us to the station, but Konsta was like, "No you are going to help me carry these barrels to Kajaani", and the officers were like "we will carry your barrels, but first we will destroy the alcohol and imprison you". Well, then Konsta said, "Do you want to stay dry or get wet?" The officers tried to get their guns but Konsta was quicker and threw them both into the river))). (Thanks to Esa Matti Karlsson for this info, grandson of Konsta).

Another story goes (((So the old police officer of Sotkamo did not like Konsta selling booze, and when a new young policeman came to town, he decided that now is the time to get Konsta and stop his business. So, he sent the young policeman to buy booze from Konsta, as Konsta did not know this new guy and that he was a policeman, well Konsta took his money, and when the policeman asked when will he get the booze? Konsta said " Not today, not tomorrow, but next week every day", and when the policeman came back the next week asking for his booze Konsta said " No I don't know you and I have never received money from you" the policeman was angry. Konsta had, of course, checked his background and knew now that he was a policeman. Well, the old police officer heard this and came to Konsta's place yelling very angrily that he lost his money to Konsta. Konsta only looked at the policeman and laughed, and that it was not his fault that the older officer gave his money to some young boy who did not know how to use it.)))

Konsta once could not get something he wanted "a woman" he was at the local society clubhouse, and he was the last to leave so he decided, " heck, I'm going to burn this hell hole" and so he did. So, he burned down the clubhouse to the ground, and so the owner said to Konsta, "If you build the clubhouse again, we will not punish you" and Konsta did, he built a great clubhouse, which is still around today.

(((Konsta, once went behind a door in Sotkamo, knocking on a door of a Granary like a storehouse for wheat, and maids tended to sleep in these backs in this time. So Konsta was knocking on the door of this Granary trying to get inside to where the maids were sleeping. Well, you know what he wanted, and the maids did not let him inside. So Konsta was very angry and said, "Oh well let's burn this shithole down to the ground". The maids escaped from windows, so no one was hurt, but the Granary was burned to the ground. The owner of the Granary demanded Konsta build a new one for him, and he did that))). This was around 1917 or 1918, and it's still around. Konstantin also built two homes for himself first one was called, "Toimela 1" he lived in this through the 1930s. This house was on the main road. And apparently, the townspeople of Sotkamo finally had a way to banish Konsta away from his house so he lost it, and had to rebuild a new house called, "Toimela 2" with his son Ahti in the middle of the forests. This house was built in 1932. Konsta also built a smoke sauna in 1922, which is still around today. Konsta built a barn around 1916, where he farmed a few acres of wheat, potatoes, carrots, etc, a couple of Cows for milk, pig's and few chickens, and sheep. Konsta also owned an Inn. Like one or two bedrooms for rent for tired travelers. Once a few guys were heading to Kajaani and they ran into a bear on the way. And they came back to the Inn and yelled to Konsta that there is a bear. So Konsta was like " A bear he is no match for me" and took an ax with him and left to kill the bear. But the bear was gone.

Konsta took care of his family, he sent money to the United States before World War II. Konstantin never saw his children after 1915 (One visit in 1920 before his children left for the United States), but he did write to them. Konstantin also fathered two illegitimate kids with a mistress named, Fanny Elina Lindberg Lehtonen 1878-1945, they had Veikko Konstantin Lehtonen born in Kajaani, Finland in 1913 and, Ahti August Karlsson born in Kajaani, Finland in 1919. Konsta and Fanny were very much in love, and apparently, Konsta killed Fanny's husband, Karl Johan Lehtonen, in Helsinki. Konsta was also the cook of the house, his mistress, Fanny, was not a cook. He was a lady's man; he probably had more children around Finland.

Konsta in October 1938 was under recovery proceedings and that they have sold his cow and sewing machine to pay parts of his debt. The auction was to be held on the 15th of November 1938 at his home farm Toimela. And there they sold the cow and sewing machine.

Konstantin died on the 11th of February 1948, in Vantaa Helsinki, Finland. He was 74 years old. The cause of death: Stroke. He lived his last months with his son, Veikko in Helsinki. Konsta, died at his mistresses' daughter's place, Impi's house, he went to Espoo to build Impi's house and died there, of a stroke. He was like a father to Impi. Konsta is buried in the Espoo Cemetery in Vantaa, his grave is no longer there. Place of Burial: Espoon kirkon hautausmaa, Espoo, Finland.

Konstantin's grandson, Edwin Carlson, called him "Kustaa Karlsson". Konsta met his grandson, Edwin Olavi Carlson once in 1930. " Konsta came from Sotkamo with Ahti and Veikko and came to pick up some of son Viktor's stuff (who died a year earlier 1929), that belonged to Konsta, that his (Viktor's wife) Fiina had brought over." He was a very tough guy and enjoyed fighting and singing very loudly.

((News article from June 1930. Brutal Stabbing in Sotkamo on Saturday evening. Last Saturday around midnight met farmer Konsta Karlsson and a few other men who were with him at the road in Linnantauskyla. Vaino Moilanen, who was also walking with two of his friends, got into an argument with Konsta and started yelling at each other, something about an old unresolved matter. At this time Moilanen's friends walked further away to see what would happen. In police custody, they later said that Karlsson had first hit Moilanen with his fist and then crapped his knife and while his own fellows had grabbed Moilanen, he stabbed Moilanen in his shoulder area so badly that he was hospitalized. After stabbing Karlsson kicked and hit Moilanen who was laying on the ground. At least Karlsson and his friends were drunk. Moilanen is not in life danger but is still in the hospital. Karlsson will be facing criminal prosecution for his devious acts.))

In another article from October 1931, Last Thursday Konsta Karlsson was sentenced to pay fines for an assault. June 1934, It says Konsta Karlsson's farm Toimela in Sotkamo's Nuaskyla was sold on the forced auction because he had gone bankrupt. Konsta was also an active member of the local credit union. Taking part in its annual meeting, or cooperative banking union. He was even chosen to be the chair for the annual meeting. Supervising the meeting.
