Mr. Freeman K. Grimshaw, 96, of Macon passed away September 19, 2006 at his home in Macon, MO.
Freeman was born on October 25, 1909 in rural Macon the son of Charles Wesley and Turah Perneta Anspauch Grimshaw. He was a World War II Airforce veteran. He was married to Addie Wright, then Virginia Lee Burnam and on June 27, 1985 he married Treva Lindley Morris in Macon. He was a lifelong Macon County resident who enjoyed farming and going to the mountains. He was a member of the Crossroads Christian Church and the Callao American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Treva of the home; one son Frankie and wife Donna Grimshaw of Macon; two daughters, RaLene Sherman of Raymore, MO and Neola Binder and Merlin Stroppel of Macon; two daughters-in-law, Hazel Grimshaw of Macon and Beverly and husband Ron Kinzler of O'Fallon, MO; 10 grandchildren, Richard and wife Pam Grimshaw, Nancy and husband Ken Miller, Debby Mefford, Anne and husband Brian Johnson, Debbie Sherman, David and wife Alana Grimshaw, Kim Kinzler, Deborah and husband Matt Carroll, Jennifer and husband Jamie Elrod, Reece Grimshaw; 8 great grandchildren, Gene and wife Shelly Grimshaw, Megan and husband Kevin Crawmer, Heidi and husband Chris Clayton, Michelle Miller, Shelly and husband Dan Schaefer, Kaleb Kinzler, Dalton Carroll, and Madison Elrod; 4 great great grandchildren, Shelby and Bobby Schaefer, Taylor Clayton and Leah Crawmer;one sister-in-law, Elsie Tuttle of Lee's Summit, MO; and lots of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; nine brothers and sisters; two sons, Bobby and Jackie; and two sons-in-law, Wayne Binder and Wayne Sherman.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Crossroads Christian Church of Macon with Brother Raymond Bond officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Macon. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon. The family suggests memorials to the Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly which may be left at the funeral home.
