Dona Felton Bartley Dalton, 97, resident of Auburn, died on Saturday July 14, 2012 at Oak Park Nursing Facility in Auburn.
Funeral service was held at the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 1 p.m. with her nephew Kenneth Hood officiating. Interment followed in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, GA.
Mrs. Dalton, daughter of the late Rev. Brady Felton Bartley and Susie Fowler Bartley, was born October 18, 1914 in Harris County, GA. She graduated from City Hospital School of Nursing in 1941 and then spent most of her working years as an industrial nurse for Swift Manufacturing Company and Sunshine Biscuit Company where she retired with over 34 years of faithful service. Mrs. Dalton was a member of Center Baptist Church near LaFayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lemuel Perry Dalton; five sisters, Opal B. Arbogast, Ida Mae Brazell, Benton B. Coggins, Gladys B. Henderson, and Janelle B. Lyons; and one brother Paul C. Bartley.
Mrs. Dalton is survived by one sister Janette Bartley Hood of LaFayette; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
Memorial donations may be made to Center Baptist Church, 2511 County Road 33, LaFayette, AL 36862.
