Muster Roll of Company F, 54th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry, Army of Tennessee C.S.A., Chatham County Georgia, "Savannah Cadets" - Bennett, Salathiel A. (or Salathiel E.) - Private, May 13, 1862. Transferred to Company K September 1, 1862. Roll dated February 28, 1863, only roll on file shows him present. Paroled at Thomasville, Georgia May 3, 1865. History: The "Savannah Cadets" was organized May 17, 1861 as a company of boys, most of whom run about 16 years old. On May 13, 1842 the Company was mustered into the Confederate Army and did duty on the coast around Savannah, Georgia until May 1863, when they joined the Army of Tennessee at Dalton, Georgia.
