Aurora Farmer Dies In Local Hospital
Joseph H Favreau, farmer of the Aurora community, died Friday morning at St. Joseph’s hospital, where he had been a patient for about ten weeks. He had been in ill health for six months. He lived on a farm one mile south of Aurora.
Mr. Favreau was born August 21, 1886 at St. George, Canada making him 74 years old at the time of his death.
He was married September 13, 1909, at St. Alexandre, Canada, to Mary Louise Gosselin. After their marriage they came to the United States living in Massachusetts, and moved to Demars, Kansas in 1924, coming to the Aurora community in 1952.
He was a member of the Catholic church of Aurora and the Knights of Columbus, at Aurora.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise: eight children: Sister Mary Lawrence, C.S.J., Orange, Calif.; George Favreau, Wichita; Mrs. Yvette Hamel, Clyde; Rene Favreau, Aurora; Emile Favreau, Snyder, Texas; Richard Favreau, Protection, Kansas; Mrs. Lillian Matheson, aurora and Mrs. Junior Adam, Abilene; three brothers, Edmond, Henery and Aldei, all of Massachusetts; 28 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9 o’clock at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Aurora and interment was in the Aurora cemetery.
