Yvonne Marie (Quennville) LaCroix Kestler, 93, formerly of 112 Wilson St., Ludlow, MA died Thursday, July 5, 2012, in the Agawam nursing home, Heritage Hall.

She was born in Holyoke, MA, June 6, 1919, the daughter of the late Theophitus and Marie Anne Florina (Forcier) Quennville. Yvonne was baptized at the third incarnation of the former Immaculate Conception Church (at the intersection of Ely and Center Streets), in Holyoke. That third church was located accross the street from the recently demolished church (the fourth incarnation) that was at 54 N. Summer St. That first church, built in 1903, became a Parish Hall when the new church was built, around 1923.

A Communicant of the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth, she was an avid bingo player and loved spending time with her family. She was the widow of Lucien LaCroix who died at sea off the coast of France, in 1945. Subsequently, in 1947, she married Edward J. Kestler and, on Oct. 2, 1968, Yvonne and Edward were divorced.

She is survived by her loving family, Janet Lavigne of Ludlow, MA, Raymond LaCroix of Round Beach Lake, IL, Carol Chenevert of Feeding Hills, MA and Edward Kestler of Easthampton, MA. Yvonne is survived by her youngest sister, Madeline M. Iannoli and her husband, Pasquale J., of Easthampton, MA, and four first-cousins: Richard A. Robidoux, of Holyoke, MA; Norman O. Robidux and his wife, Jane, of Glen Burnie, MD; Joseph C. Quenneville, and his wife, Julie, of So. Hadley, MA, and Rose [Rosabelle] (Forcier) Garbacik, of Northampton, MA.

Yvonne is Grandmother of 24, Great-grandmother of many and 2nd Great Grandmother of several, and is also survived by extended family members and friends. Sadly she was predeceased by three children (Marlene Bean, Judith Bumgardner, and James Kestler) and two sisters (Annette Boken and Rachel Whelihan).

Family and friends called at the funeral home Friday, July 13, 2012, from 4-7 PM. Funeral Services celebrating her life were held Saturday, July 14, 2012, at 10 AM at the Kapinos-Mazur Funeral Home 64 Sewall St. Ludlow, preesided by Fr. Norman Bolton. Rites of Committal followed at Island Pond Cemetery.
