Howard A. Heffner
Hamburg, Sept. 30 - Howard A. Heffner, 78, died yesterday in the home of his son, Paul H. Heffner Sr., 535 South Fifth St., this borough. A native of Center Township, he was a son of the late Henry B. and Amelia F. (Wagner) Heffner and was a member of Council No. 8, Order of Independent Americans and its beneficial association, this place, and the Order of Maccabees in Reading.
His wife, Catharine S. (Luckenbill) Heffner, preceded him in death 15 years.
Surviving are his son, with whom he resided; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Mary Wessner, Shoemakersville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ellen, wife of Frank Kunkle, Hamburg, and Alice, wife of Alfred Greenawalt, Lenhartsville R. D. 1, and four brothers: Lewis, Hamburg R. D. 3; Henry, Wilmington, Del., Morris, Reading, and Daniel, Connellsville.
Services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the Leibensperger Funeral Home, this borough, the Rev. Phares O. Reitz officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, this place.
