He was a member of First Reformed Church in Zeeland, retired from Great Lakes Bank Corp. in 1991, and served his country during WWII in the US Army.
Norman was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Vruggink, brothers, Harold Vruggink, Jay Vruggink, Milton Vruggink and Jacob Vruggink.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marian Vruggink; children, Debra and Douglas Woodwyk of Zeeland, Timothy and Julie Vruggink of DeWitt, MI; grandchildren, Kim and Mark Holsworth, Kristy Woodwyk, Tyler Vruggink, Joshua Vruggink; great grandchildren, Carter Holsworth, Layla Holsworth; in-laws, Mrs. Milton (Cornelia) Vruggink of Hudsonville, Mrs. Jacob (Dorothy) Vruggink of Hudsonville, Justin Schipper of Hudsonville, Edith and Henry DeWitt of Grand Rapids, Florence and Dale Schreur of Hudsonville; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are planned for 1:00pm Wednesday, May 30, at First Reformed Church, 148 E. Central, Zeeland, with Rev. Scott Van Oostendorp officiating. Burial will be in Zeeland Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be 6-9pm Tuesday, May 29, at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 S. State, Zeeland.
