Mary started her a career as a nurse's aide at the former Waterman Heights Nursing Home in Smithfield. She later became activities director and retired as the Assistant Administrator in 1993. She was also a professional harpist from 1939 to 1972. She was an avid reader and also played the organ. She was a lifetime member of the North Scituate Baptist Church.
Mary leaves a son, Richard J. Aber and his wife Tuula, a daughter Nancy R. Larson and her husband David, five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ruth C. Wunsch.
Her funeral service was held Saturday in the North Scituate Baptist Church, 619 West Greenville Rd, North Scituate. Robbins Funeral Home, 2251 Mineral Spring Ave, North Providence. Burial will be in Smithville Cemetery.
