Patricia S. Hesse, 83, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family at her side. Patricia was born October 2, 1928 in Alsey, IL, the daughter of William and Nina (Crabtree) Lockhart. She married Donald Hesse at 1st Presbyterian Church in Springfield, on June 1, 1947. They shared 53 years of marriage together until he preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her son Richard Hesse, and a granddaughter Megan Hesse. Patricia worked at Sears for many years and then later for the Department of Revenue. She was a member of the Blue Ridge Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and The Lanphier Alumni Association. She enjoyed going to the boat to play the slots, playing the lotto, going on boat trips on different rivers, reading and word puzzles, and she also loved going for Cozy Dogs. Patricia was a member of 3rd Presbyterian Church and had been attending Woodside Methodist Church. She is survived by her children; Stephen (Becky) Hesse of Rochester, Debra (David) Bruce of Riverton, her brother William (Charlotte) Lockhart of Springfield, her grandchildren; Dawn, Layla, Christie, Brandon, Ashley, and Jennifer, 8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
