Donald J. "Don" Hesse, 74, of Springfield died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at his residence. He was born April 18, 1926, in Springfield, the son of Maurice J. and Viola Lindsay Hesse. He married Patricia Lockhart in 1947.
Mr. Hesse was employed by CILCO for 36 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star. He also was a member of IBEW Local 51, Quarter Century Club at CILCO, Blue Ridge Club, a former precinct committeeman of Woodside Township and coach of Khoury League.
Survivors: wife, Patricia "Pat"; two sons, Richard "Rick" and Stephen "Steve" Hesse, both of Springfield; a daughter, Debra "Debbie" (husband, David) Bruce of Riverton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, John (wife, Helen) Hesse of Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister, Shirley Burge of Denver; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Bisch and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. H. Warren Wilkewitz officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
