Mr. Hesse was employed by CILCO for 36 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II, receiving the Bronze Star. He also was a member of IBEW Local 51, Quarter Century Club at CILCO, Blue Ridge Club, a former precinct committeeman of Woodside Township and coach of Khoury League.
Survivors: wife, Patricia "Pat"; two sons, Richard "Rick" and Stephen "Steve" Hesse, both of Springfield; a daughter, Debra "Debbie" (husband, David) Bruce of Riverton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, John (wife, Helen) Hesse of Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister, Shirley Burge of Denver; and several nieces and nephews.
Services: Bisch and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. H. Warren Wilkewitz officiating. Burial: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
