Herbert Countryman
Herbert Lee Countryman, 88, of Hillsboro, died early Wednesday afternoon, September 23, 1998, at his home.
He was born May 15, 1910, near Bainbridge, a son of Eli and Jessie Myers Countryman.
On March 28, 1937,
he married Netalie Gall Countryman, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Lee Bishop and Karen and Roger Bennington,
all of Hillsboro; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Phyllis Countryman of Washington C. H., and Gary and Jan Countryman of New Braunfels, Texas; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; four sisters, Nellie McBee of Bainbridge, Ada Wilkin of Lynchburg, Josephine Faulkner of Vandalia, and Geneva Washburn of Washington C. H.; two brothers, Bill Countryman of Chillicothe and George Countryman of Greenfield and a special family friend, Mary Love.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis, James and infant William Countryman; a sister, Dora Penwell; and a great-granddaughter, Amber Blair.
Mr. Countryman was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, U. S. 50, 1 1/2 miles east of Hillsboro, where Rev. Heath Countryman and Rev. Leonard Daws will co-officiate.
Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
Friends may call 5-8 P.M. at the church.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Highland County, 1404 N. High St., Hillsboro
or to the Church of the Nazarene, Video Screen Fund, 8230 U. S. 50, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133. The Turner & Son Funeral Home is serving the family.
