Relgious Leader. He was President of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 1958 to 1978. He was ordained an elder September 9, 1928 and a high Priest and apostle on April 8, 1947. On April 5, 1950 he became a counselor in the first presidency and was ordained as president of the church on October 6, 1958. After naming his successor he resigned his position on April 3, 1978.
