Mr. William Lee Anders, 52, of 7310 Mountaindale Road, near Frederick, died Saturday, July 27, at the Washington Hospital Center, from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident on July 11.

Born Nov. 4, 1938, in New Midway, he was a son of Lillie Renner Anders of Emmitsburg and the late William A. Anders.

Mr. Anders was a member of the Woodsboro United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Central Maryland Antique Tractor Club. He was employed at Mount Pleasant Grain Elevator for more than 30 years, now a division of Hostetter Grain, formerly R.L. Kelly & Sons. He was a truck driver and known over citizens band radio as "Polecat." He served in the U.S. Army, with the 558th Signal Co., from Oct. 1961 to Oct. 1969.

Surviving besides his mother are a daughter, Linda L. Babco and son-in-law John Babco Jr. of Adamstown; a brother, Earl Andres Sr. of Keymar; his stepmother, Ruth anders of Frederick; two stepbrothers, Charles Anders of New Oxford, Pa. and Michael Anders of Frederick; and two stepsisters, Orpha Rice of Frederick and Jennifer Ridder of Davenprort, Fla.

This family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, at the Woodsboro funeral home of D.D. Hartzler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the funeral home, with Mr. Anders' pastor, the Rev. Paul A. Maxey, officiating. Interment will be in Resthavaen Memorial Gardens, near Frederick.
