LUBBOCK-Lorea Herron, 94, of Ransom Canyon passed away on July 1, 2012. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Resthaven Memorial Park. Lorea was born on May 11, 1918, in Stephenville, Texas, to Roy and Ella Johnson. Her family moved to Lubbock during her childhood. After graduating high school, she met and married the love of her life, Roy Herron; they married on Nov. 19, 1943, in Clovis, N.M. Her emphasis was on her family; she was a great daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She retired from Sears after 25 years of service.
She is survived by daughter, Jane Graham and husband Rhonald of Ransom Canyon; two grandsons, Dr. Wade Graham and wife Leticia of McAllen, and Dean Graham and wife Amanda of Lubbock; and three great-granddaughters, Vanessa, Murphy and Graci. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Roy Herron; and one son, 1st Lt. Lee Roy Herron.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Vietnam Memorial Scholarship Fund, 1st Lt. Lee Roy Herron, Vietnam Center, Box 41045, Lubbock, TX 79409.
