Harry Hakes, age 86, resident of Route 2, Holcombe, Town of Ruby, passed away yesterday afternoon at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls. He was born November 3, 1891 in the Town of Anson, son of James and Isabell Hakes. Isabell Hakes. He grew in Anson and was married to Olive Emma King in 1912 in Chippewa Falls. They lived and farmed in the Town of Anson for a number of years and then moved to the Town of Ruby in 1932. To this union were born two sons and three daughters. She passed away in 1948. In 1950 Mr. Hakes was married to Edith King, and they lived in the Town of Ruby. She passed away in 1960. Surviving are one son William of Route 2, Holcombe; two daughters, Mrs. Florella Wagner of Route 2, Holcombe, and Mrs. Herman (Dorothy) Bowe of West Allis, Wis.; nine grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. He was preceded in death by his wives, his parents, one son, and daughter, three brothers, three sisters, five half-brothers and one half-step sister. Funeral services win be held Monday 2 p.m. at the Anson Methodist Church with the Rev. David Busker officiating. Burial will be made in the Copp Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gilman Funeral Home, Gilman, after 2 p.n. Sunday until the time of service Monday.
