The 1910 U. S. Census shows Domonic, his brother Joseph and sisters Cecelia and Rose as living at St. Joseph Orphanage in Milwaukee. There father, Martin, died in 1906 of typhoid fever and it appears having a large family was difficult for his widow, Agnes Butna Dembeck, to support. Military records show that Domonic Dembeck enlisted in the service on Dec. 17, 1942 as a warrant officer. The record states that he had a "grammer school education" and his civil occupation was "farm hand, general farm labor." It describes him as being "66 inches tall and weighed 131 pounds." He was living in Waukesha Co., at the time of his enlistment. It does not appear that he ever married, as no marriage record has been found and at the time of his death, he was listed as single.
