Calvin L. Riley, 84 years of Belfast Community, died Monday, December 1, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Ohio.

Calvin was born January 11, 1924 in Hillsboro, Ohio, the son of the late Lloyd and Lula Mae (Roberds) Riley. Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gerald and Delano Riley.

Calvin worked for the Belfast School for several years. He was a Navy Veteran of W.W. II, member of the Ancient Order of the Deep and the American Legion. He was a member and Past Noble Grand of Angola Lodge #231 I.O.O.F. Belfast, Past Chancellor Commander Hillsdale Lodge #696 K. of P. Belfast.

He is survived by two nieces, Gisele Kisling and Teresa (Paul, Jr.) Pence both of Hillsboro; two nephews, Gary Riley of Hillsboro and Rick Riley of Kentucky; cousins, Billy L. Roberds of Belfast, Candy Wright of Belfast, Bill B. Roberds of East Monroe, Joshua Roberds of Hillsboro; several great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 5, 2008 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.

Rev. Wayne Adams will officiate with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard will follow at the Dunkard Ridge Cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with I.O.O.F. and K.of P. services at 7:30 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
