Sarah Carr
Mrs. Sarah Cotterall Carr, of 119 North Eighteenth St., Warwood, died today at 8:25 a.m., in Wheeling Hospital after having been confined at the hospital for one week. She had been in failing health for several years.
She was born in England Feb. 17, 1880, and was married there in 1900 to Stephen Carr, Sr., who died November, 1953. They came to this country in 1912 and since 1914 had lived in Wheeling.
Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. Hilda Barnes, Warwood; Mrs. Hannah Bell Oden, Wheeling; Mrs. Elizabeth Jacvidius, Wintersville, O.; Mrs. Sarah Hornbeck, Bellaire; Mrs. Mary Wyatt, Triadelphia; Mrs. Virginia Metz, Oakland, Calif,; and Mrs. Florence Staton, Norfolk, Va.; Mrs. Laura Blake, Power, W. Va.; four sons, William, Wheeling; Joseph, McGraw's Run; Michael, of Wheeling, and Stephen Carr Jr., Wheeling; one brother, Michael, and a sister, Hannah, in England; 28 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was a Protestant.
Friends will be received at Altmeyer's 1400 Eoff St., where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. The Rev. Stanley Stiver of St. Mark's Lutheran Church will officiate, and interment will be made in Mt. Zion
Cemetery.
