TALLULAH, June 28 (Special) — Funeral services for Charlie Waters Holmes, 63, were held in the Baptist Church of Sondheimer at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Marvin Stone of Melbourne Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was at the Silver Cross cemetery at Tallulah under the direction of Young Funeral home, Tallulah.
Holmes died at his home in Sondheimer Monday morning after a brief illness. He was a native of Marion County, Miss., and a retired farmer.
Survivors include: His wife, Mrs. Dellie Holmes; eight sons, Vernon Holmes, of TallaBena, Virgil Holmes of Houston, Tex., Buford Holmes of Lake Providence, Herbert Holmes of Tallulah, and Cecil, J. W., Sed, and Clayton, all of Sondheimer; four daughters, Mrs. Floyd McKensey of New Orleans, Mrs. Bennie Heidman of Houston, Tex., Mrs. Ellie Lou Rushing and Mrs. Gladys Morris, both of Sondheimer; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Duncan of Tylertown, Miss., and Mrs. Jean Holmes of Columbia, Miss.; and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Floyd Parker, E. H. White, Clarence Murray, Buford White, Howard Wise and Junior Myers.
