Ralph Tennison, Wellington native, died Friday, February 22,2002 at the age of 81.
Memorial graveside services were held at 2 pm Tuesday, February 26, 2002 in North Fairview Cemetery with Rev Monte Kreis, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Adams Funeral Home. Honorary pallbearers were Albert Fulcher, D C Thomason, Yates Parker, Lon Kiker, Billy Langford and Jimmy Langford.
Born May 19, 1920 in Wellington to Newton C and Margaret A Hopper Tennison, he graduated from Wellington High School in 1939 and received his BA from Texas Tech University in 1949. He served in the US Navy during WW II and married Pat Turley April 11, 1946 in Shamrock. He was a charter member of the VFW Glynn Moore Post #6439 and a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Pat, of the home; a son, Steve Tennison of Chesapeake, VA and two grandchildren, Michael and Leslie Ann Tennison, both of Virginia Beach, VA.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Wellington Cemetery Association. Billy Ray Bledsoe
