Martha Veada Bullis Eller, 75 of Montcalm, died at her home Saturday at 4:15 PM, following a long period of illness. She was the widow of Junie Hansford Eller, who was killed in a mine accident Feburary 2, 1940.
She was born in Wilkesboro, NC, April 14, 1893, the daughter of the late Lyndsey and Frances Minton Bullis. She lived in McDowell and Mercer Counties for 57 years and was a resident of Montcalm for the past 31 years. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Millers Creek, NC.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Theodore (Gay) Day of Bluefield, VA, Mrs Richard (Faye) Tollison of Greenville, SC: five sons, Terrell and Glenn Eller both of Montcalm, Otis Vaughn Eller of Flint Mich., and Carl and Lyndsey Paul "LP" Eller of Chicago, Ill.: brother, Simeon Bullis of Wilkesboro, NC.: four sisters, Mrs Robinette (Rettie)Nichols, Mrs Coy(Winnie) Vickers, Mrs Virgil (Vida) Adams and Mrs Richard (Zora) Nichols all of Wilkesboro, NC.: 16 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and four step-Grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Montie Eller and a son Guy Garfield Eller.
Funeral services will be conducted Dec 2, at 3 pm at the Pentecostal Church at Montcalm by the Rev. CJPeyton. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Memorial Mausoleum at Bluewell. Grandsons will be pallbearers and Granddaughters will carry the flowers.
