OBITUARY
AGED PIONEER LADY DEAD
This week we are called upon to chronicle the death of a respected resident of this city, Mrs. Rosalie Sticha, who died at her home on Thursday, January 22, at 5 o’clock a. m. after a lingering illness from infirmities due to advanced age.
Deceased was born at Novosedia, Bohemia, April 22, 1830, and was married to John Sitcha before coming to this country. In 1855 they came to America and settled on a farm two and a half miles southeast of this city, where their son, John Sitcha, still resides.
She is survived by five daughters and one son. They are: Mrs. Joseph Skluzacek, Sr., of Lonsdale; Mrs. Ferdinand Dvorak, of Washington; Mrs. Rosalie Bouda, living near the Canadian boundary; Mrs. Anna Mracek, Mrs. Frank Pavlicek and John Sticha of this city. Her husband, four sons and one daughter preceded her to the grave.
Deceased was well and favorably known and her many friends deplore her untimely demise.
The funeral was held from St. Wenceslaus Catholic church on Saturday at 10 o’clock a. m. Rev. J. K. Cermak officiating, assisted by the choir. The remains were interred in the Catholic cemetery.
The pall bearers were her grand daughters, Mary Prokes, Rosy Busta, Anna Sticha, Anna Schatz, Christina Lepeska and Mary Steiner.
