MEADVILLE, Apr. 26. - William H. Harrison, a lumber dealer, died yesterday at his residence in this city. He came here from Union City about a year ago.

Age at death per cemetery records: 64 yrs.

William was the second son of Ira and Deborah Washburn Harrison.

He was a Civil War veteran, joining the Navy on June 5, 1861 in New York and was mustered out on Aug 30, 1862. He served on the USS Roanoke and the US Gunboat Gelena. According to the 1890 Veteran Census during the war two of his fingers on his left hand were shot off and he had also been shot in his left knee. He began receiving a Veterans Pension beginning in March 1871.

He married Caroline McNaughton on April 10, 1879. He was the father of two children; Anne Jeanette Harrison Reed and Paul Gilbert Harrison.
