Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville. Rev. Harlyn Kuschel will officiate with burial to follow at Westside Cemetery, Reedsville.
Mr. Behnke was born November 2, 1914 in the Town of Maple Grove, son of the late Fred and Louise Raddatz Behnke. He married the former Lavida Rusch on August 8, 1937 at Reedsville. Mr. Behnke farmed in the towns of Cato and Rockland for many years and was also employed at L and S Farms of Reedsville. Mr. Behnke was a member of St. John and St. James Lutheran Church, Reedsville and was the church trustee for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Lavida; two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Dennis Evenson of Valders and Carol and Gregory Brehmer of Green Bay; four grandchildren, Debbie Goehring of Cato, Gail Evenson of Valders and Dale and Daniel Brehmer of Green Bay; two brothers, Robert Behnke of Route 1, Brillion and Milton Behnke of Brillion; a half brother, Fred Schaefer of Hilbert and a sister, Mrs. Milton (Adeline) Nitschke of Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by an infant son, seven brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Wieting Funeral Home, Reedsville from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and then at the church from 11 a.m. until the hour of service.
