Wallace Lau Dies After Being Hit By Car; Inquest Is Planned
Wallace Lau, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lau, Reedsville route 2, died
last night at the Holy Family hospital of injuries suffered when he was hit
by a car Sunday afternoon near his home.
Wallace suffered critical head injuries and a fractured left leg when he was
hit by a car driven by (private), Reedsville. [The driver] told County Officer
William Braun that the boy ran out of a group of children into the path of
his car.
The sheriff’s office said this noon that it had been ordered to call a coroner’s
jury. The jury was to view the body late this afternoon and was expected to sit
at an inquest tomorrow afternoon.
Funeral Sunday
Wallace Lau was born in Reedsville on July 23, 1934. He is survived by his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Lau; (private); and five sisters, (private).
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Lutheran
church at Reedsville, the Rev. Harold Eckert officiating, and the Reedsville
Cooperative association in charge. Burial will be in the West Side Evangelical
Lutheran cemetery at Reedsville.
