Mrs. Julia V. Kartheiser, 88, of 305 Memorial Drive, Chilton, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, at Calumet Memorial Hospital, Chilton.

The former Julia Vogt, was born Feb. 16, 1893, in Jericho a daughter of the late Bernard and Catherine Thelen Vogt.
On May 16, 1924, she and Leo Kartheiser were married in Chilton. He died Oct. 29, 1963.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Chilton, its Christian Mothers Society and Mission Society, the Daughters of Isabella, VFW Auxiliary, Calumet Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the Chilton Senior Citizens.

Surviving are three sons, William of Chilton, Bernard of Chicago and Leo, Jr. of Boca Raton, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; one great grandson; and one brother, Frank Vogt of Chilton. She was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral Mass was at St. Mary Church, Chilton, with the Rev. Paul Brick, pastor, celebrant. Burial was in the parish cemetery.
