Funeral services for Mrs. Edwin McQueen, 84, Milton, were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, in the Milton Methodist Church, the Rev. Walter Wagener officiating. Burial was in Milton Cemetery with Russell Bauer, John Clarke, Wilton McQueen, Herbert, Donald and Kimball Killam as pallbearers.
Mrs. McQueen died in her home in Milton at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct 1, following a long illness.
The former Nellie Killam, daughter of Kimble and Amanda Marquart Killam, was born in Milton Junction July 26, 1880. She spent her childhood on the Killam farm at Otter Creek. She graduated in 1900 from the Milton Junction High School and from Whitewater Normal in 1907. She taught schools in Wisconsin for eight years and in Friona, Texas, two years. She was married to Edwin McQueen in 1912 at Bovina, Texas, and in the fall of that year they came to Wisconsin. They operated a farm until retiring in 1945 and moving to Milton.
Mrs. McQueen was a member of the Milton Methodist Church and active in civic and social groups.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Maurice; two grandchildren, Thomas and Linda, all of Milton; three sisters, Mrs. Archie Cullen of Janesville, Mrs. J. P. Bauer of Milton, and Mrs. Walter Foor of Vina, Calif.; two brothers, Rush and Mark Killam, both of Waupun.
She was predeceased by a son, James, and a sister, Mrs. Roy Mepham.
