Edwin Allen McQueen, 86, a resident of Milton for over 50 years, died Monday morning, March 10, in Mercy Hospital, Janesville, where he had been admitted on Friday, March 7.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, in the First Methodist Church, Milton, of which he was a member. Rev. William Riggs officiated with burial in the Milton Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Clark, Clarence Vierck, Charles Bingham, Robert Hudson, Eugene Hudson and Wilton McQueen.
Born near Shenandoah, Iowa, Nov. 11, 1882, he was the son of J. W. and Anna Morse McQueen. He attended Business College in Shenandoah and the Gem City Business College at Quincy, Ill. In 1907 he moved to Bovina, Texas, where he did dry farming. On Aug. 6, 1912, he was married to Nellie Killam and after living in Reedsburg for a year, they moved to Rock County where they farmed near Milton until 1946 when he retired due to ill health.
Mr. McQueen was employed at The Burdick Corporation until 1952.
Mrs. McQueen died Sept. 30, 1964. Surviving are one son, Maurice McQueen, Milton; two grandchildren; a brother, Frank, and two sisters, Ada and Maude McQueen, all of Shenandoah, Iowa.
