Funeral Date and Location
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thurs., June 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the McKee Cemetery.

Charlea L. "Peggy" Harwood, 84, of Broken Arrow, OK, formerly a longtime Parsons resident, died at 3:45 A.M., Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Sterling House surrounded by her children and grandchildren at Broken Arrow.

She was born Sept. 13, 1927 at Columbus, KS, a daughter of Johnny Ike and Frances Ann (Sales) Crain. She was raised in Columbus and graduated from high school there. She moved to Parsons in the early 1950's and was employed at the Day & Zimmerman Army Ammunition Plant as a Line Supervisor. She moved to Broken Arrow, OK in 2006 to be with her daughter.

On Sept. 2, 1945 she was united in marriage to Robert C. "Bob" Harwood at Fredonia, KS. He preceded her in death on Feb. 13, 1990.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Parsons. She was active in her church and enjoyed gardening and crafts. She was also a loving mother and grandmother.

Survivors include two sons – Larry D. Harwood, and his wife, Dianne, of Montgomery, TX; Carlos Duane Harwood, of Farmington, MO; one daughter – Becky Saliba, and her husband, Darren, of Broken Arrow, OK; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother – Harlin Crain, of Pittsburg, KS; and one sister – Wamyth Geasland, of Springfield, MO.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, seven sisters and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thurs., June 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church. Burial will be in the McKee Cemetery.
