STERLING - Margaret Mary Aldrich, 93, of Sterling, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at her home.
She was born on July 31, 1918 in Tampico, the daughter of John and Mary Anna (Leininger) Lauff.
She was a 1937 graduate of Community Catholic High School in Sterling and attended Brown's Business College. She had worked for a very brief period at the Social Security Admin in Washington, DC. She married Lawrence N. Aldrich September 7, 1948 in Tampico, IL. He died September 25, 2004. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. In the 1960s, Margaret cooked for the Nuns at the Newman Convent and she cooked and cleaned at the St. Mary's rectory. She was also an avid gardener.
Surviving are three daughters, Agnes (Arthur Roger) Worthington, Norma Andrews and Mary Aldrich; three sons, John (Jeanie) Aldrich, Ralph Aldric and Dennis (Patricia) Aldrich; one son-in-law, Michael Flynn; 25 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Louise Flynn; one sister, Mary Anna Rebert; one grandson, Ron Andrews and one granddaughter, Barbara Flynn.
Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling with Reverend Juan Ayala officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6 - 8 PM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 505 First Avenue, Sterling with the rosary recited at 5:45 PM. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
