Obituary:
Don T. Harris
DELTA- Don Tolton Harris, age 68, passed away May 6, 2000 at Delta, Utah. Don was born November 9, 1931 at Oak City, Utah to Earl Tolton and Silvia Am Lovell Harris. He was the sixth child in a family of seven children. Don attended schools in Oak City and Delta and graduated from Delta High School. He liked to learn new skills and attended several training programs. He worked in California for a short time and also worked as an instrument repairman at Hill Field in Ogden, Utah. He was a High Priest in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the Northwestern States Mission. He was a home teacher and worked in the extraction program. He enjoyed using the computer, compiling family histories and enjoyed giving copies of the work to his brothers and sisters. He enjoyed singing in the choir while living in Prove and enjoyed wood carving. Don is survived by two Brothers: Grant J (Helen) Harris, Spanish Fork, Utah; Keith D. (Ileen) Harris, Prove, Utah; one Sister: Diane (Elzo) Porter, Oak City, Utah. He was preceded in death by three Sisters: Marian Harris, Shirley Harris DeLapp; Gene Harris Kennedy. Funeral services were held on Wednesday May 10, 2000 at 11 AM in the Delta 1st Ward. Friends called at the Church on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:40 AM. Family Prayer was by Elzo Porter, brother-in-law. Prelude and Postlude Music was by Joyce Moody. President Roger Killpack presided. Bishop Don Knight conducted. "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" was sung by the Congregation, accompanied by Joyce Moody and directed by Marge Lisonbee. Invocation. was offered by Robert Harris, cousin. Grant Harris, brother, spoke followed by a Piano Medley of Hymns by Diane Porter, sister. Bishop Don Knight spoke and "In My Father's House Are Many Mansions" was sung by Elzo Porter, brother-in-law, accompanied by Diane Porter, sister. President Roger Killpack spoke. "How Great Thou Art" was sung by the Congregaiion, accompanied by Joyce Moody and directed by Marge Lisonbee. Benediction was ·by Wesley Barlow, cousin. Interment was in the Oak City Cemetery, under the direction of Nickle Mortuary. Dedication of Grave was by Keith Harris, brother. Pallbearers were William Gardner, Robert DeLapp, Larry Gardner, John DeLapp, Robert Harris, Stanley Mecham, Rulon Jones, and Lowell Mecham.
