He was born May 25, 1921 in Clayton, Delaware, the son of the late John Edward and Ida Mae Archer Dittman.
He loved to laugh and joke with everyone. He enjoyed family gatherings, playing shuffleboard and shooting pool. He liked gardening and working on small engines, tractors and almost anything. He was also a very giving person. He would give to anyone in need.
Mr. Dittman was a farmer and a cattle truck driver for Harry Rudnick and Sons until his retirement.
He enjoyed life with his companion, Margaret Matlock until her death in 1992. In addition to his companion, he was preceded in death by Edna Ranshaw, mother of his children. He was also preceded in death by a son, Richard A."Dickie" Dittman and his brothers and sisters, John Edward Dittman, Mary Dittman, Charles Dittman, Sarah Elizabeth Dittman and Harry James Dittman.
Services will be Wednesday July 18, 2001 at 1PM in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street Smyrna, Delaware, where friends may call 1 hour before services.
Burial will be in Delaney's Church Cemetery, Clayton Delaware.
